“Taking to the stage, as part of the Toronto Independent Music Awards, Kevin Ker’s emotive vulnerability and gripping range was full of stunning awe”

KEVIN KER

Kevin Ker is a Canadian musician, songwriter, producer and multidisciplinary artist whose work moves between alternative rock, atmospheric electronics, experimental pop and immersive storytelling.

Ker co-founded Future History with lifelong friend and creative collaborator Justin Dillon in 2009. That partnership has remained central to his musical life, extending into Man Made Forest, the genre-blurring Trip Liminal with vocalist Julie Moffatt, and numerous recording and performance projects.

In 2018, Ker wrote and recorded the surprise solo concept album The Unraveling of the Drifting Cosmonaut in just two days. Incorporating authentic audio transmissions from space, the album follows the imagined journey of an astronaut drifting into the unknown. The project reflects Ker’s fascination with cinematic sound, unconventional narratives and spontaneous creation.

As a solo performer, Ker regularly appears at festivals, venues, pubs, breweries, private events and community celebrations. Drawing from an extensive repertoire of original music and reimagined favourites, he shapes each performance around the audience and atmosphere of the room.

Whether performing alone, collaborating with other artists or constructing immersive studio recordings, Ker approaches music as both a songwriter and a world-builder—creating distinctive sonic spaces built around emotion, experimentation and connection.
